Interests/Hobbies photo

When I took this photo I wanted it to look like a really good close up of a cool subject. In the circumstance of this photo my family and I had to try to get the praying mantis upside down and then hold him there. We tried many times to get him like this and after awhile, the photo was taken and it came out better than I expected. It also looks cool because the blurred background makes you look at the subject more clearly.

David Hockney Collage

We were trying to communicate a scene of school from the perspective of the courtyard. We wanted to also have people everywhere to show a sort of funhouse effect where you see yourself in multiple places at the same time. I believe we were successful in our final product because we had all of these aspects present. One thing I learned from this is that making a collage that has to connect all photos is really hard and takes planning. A second thing I learned is making these scenes can be really creative and can have a variety of meanings and motifs. One last thing I learned is that everyone has a different view of what they want to do because everyone had a variety of different subjects and ways they portrayed a scene.

Creative Portraits

When I was taking this photo I wanted to make it look cool. I wanted to portray an action and object while it was in motion. I think it came out really well and looks cool.






When I was taking this photo my goal was to show a big personality of my brother. All he does is sleep and eat and now this picture shows this aspect well.

When did the Cubist Period occur? Who is credited with this style? What are aspects featured of the Cubist Artwork?

Cubism started in 1907. It all began when Picasso painted the first picture of the cubism sort. Some aspects of cubism are warm colors coming out while cool colors recede to the back. Sometimes they are angular, straight lined shapes that make out a portrait of a person or people. Aspects featured in this artwork include people, flora, and scenes of nature.

Who is David Hockney? What kind of work does/has he done? What Cubist features do you notice in David Hockney's work? Where and how might he have been influenced by the cubist period?

David Hockney is a successful british student and does many different things including painting, photography, printmaking and even designing. He does portraits of people and scenery. He has cubist features such as doing portraits of people and scenery but he also does it with wide ranges of warm and cool colors making the end product stand out more. He may have been influenced by the cubist period by all the good portraits that were made during the period. These portraits may have even inspired his photos.
